Armata

The Municipality of Spetses honors every year the local heroes who fought in the famous naval battle of 1822, which has been recognized as one of the most important historical events of the Greek War of Independence, by organizing a week full of fascinating festivities. The so-called "Armata", is the biggest event of the island, which is actually a representation of the glorious naval battle, framed by many spectacular cultural events.
 

Spetses Classic Yacht Regatta

The Spetses Classic Yacht Regatta started in 2011 and has been the most popular traditional yacht race in Greece. It takes place every summer, organized by the Yacht Club of Greece with the support of Spetses Yacht Club. Spetses is an ideal island to host such an event, since it has a long historical nautical tradition, and offers the most stunning backdrop. Some of the most classical yacht beauties participate in the race, rendering it an unparalleled naval happening in the broader Mediterranean region.
 

Classic Cars Race Spetses

Every year rare antique cars, some of which dating back to 1921, traverse the island of Spetses, giving off something of the nostalgic aura of the famous classical movies. The cars start the race from the Isthmus of Corinth towards Costa, covering a distance of 150 kilometers. The viewers have the opportunity to admire, unique classical cars such as Rolls Royce, Porsche, Jaguar, and Ferrari. This event is an ode to the high aesthetics of the antique cars, as well as the mastery required to preserve them to full function to this day.
 

Spetsathlon

Spetsathlon is a diverse sporting event that takes place every spring, featuring various events and sports activities for athletes and excited spectators, in a beautiful, natural route along the perimeter of the island. Spetsathlon, consisting of the Triathlon Sprint, the Triathlon Endurance, the swimming race and the cycling race, is a celebration of the athletic ideal, perfectly embraced by the stunning views of Spetses.
